Download!

Downloading the CFW shouldn't be too hard. Just follow these instructions ...

  • If you're a completely new user, you'll want to get the CFW2 Final Version (907 kb). This contains everything you'll need: the program, documentation, and installer/uninstaller.
  • If you intend to share your copy of the Console with someone else, get the Multi-User front end (306 kb), and follow the instructions which come with it. This allows everyone to have their own settings and bindings.
  • If you're a user of the old Console v1.0, you'll want to get the bindings convertor (305 kb) so you don't have to reset all of your options and bindings.
  • If you're a fan of completeness, you may instead want to get all of the above in one go. So, get the CFW2 Final, Full (1 550 kb) -- but be wary of the longer download.

There is one other file worth listing -- if you are a power power user, and like to mess around with the settings of the programs you use, then you may have found the file used by the Console to determine which Control Panel applets it's able to open. If you mess with this file, it's quite easy to stop it from working ... so you'll want to get a new copy of cpl.lst to start over without re-installing.

And that's all there is to it!
